Magical

This morning GLH walked into the room while I was searching through his closet.

GLH: What are you doing?

GL: Looking for dirty clothes. I'm doing laundry today.

GLH: So you just look through for things you've seen me wearing or what?

GL: Mostly things that are crumbled up in a ball.

GLH: How long have you been doing this?

GL: How long have we lived together?

So, here's my question to you. Do men think that clean clothes just magically happen? Or does it ever occur to them that there is someone who makes certain it happens?

Just wondering...

Since ZDG also reads your blog I can't post my answer. But at least he irons his own clothes (and mine).

In the past I would have said: You bet. Today, I wonder what I've done to deserve such a tidy guy. He often does the wash (witout being asked) and irons his own stuff!

My dear one is terrific about doing laundry. However, I am the only one in the partnership who recognizes that his gym shorts do get sweaty and require washing. An ugly image to share, but beware of sweaty cheeks! 'Nuff said.

Ummm.. Should I be embarrassed that I've always done my own laundry?

Love you.

I'm a bit confused here...When does the Laundry Fairy visit your house?

Actually, I do nearly all the laundry in our house, including for The Shmunkin and the Ways and Means Committee, both of whom average seven to twelve outfits a day, so, sorry GLH, I can't help you out on this one.

That's nothing. Way back when, we're talking 30-something years ago, my dad used to wear shirts over and over again without washing - I mean, he is European. I'd actually see my mom go into his closet and...SNIFF THE PITS of his shirts to see which ones needed washing. I'd ask her if she was making her "pit sniffin' rounds", and she'd tell me that it was the only way to know for sure.

Fortunately, I seem to recall that my dad was pretty good about throwing underwear and socks into the hamper.

Couple of Things:

In defense of GLH, he has offered to do laundry. It's just that his laundry methods are not up to my standards. (Pre-sorting? Why bother?) So I took up the task in order to maintain my clothes.

And to TBF: I have seen photos of your mother. And I cannot get the image of her sniffing armpits out of my head. Still shuddering!
