Senior Moment

Mom: "David, did you remember to take your pills this morning?"

Dad: "I'm not sure. I'll go check."

A few minutes pass. Then from the other room I hear...

Dad: "Mary, what day is it today?"

Mom: "Thursday."

Dad: "Then yes, I remembered to take my pills."

*******************************************************************

And that, Ladies and Gentlemen, is why they invented those weekly pill boxes with space for each day's pills.

All I have to say is it is a good thing they still have to depend on you for a week, otherwise you might be in big big trouble little missy. Making fun of your parents like that :) ok ok ok it actually made me laugh outloud - and then call coworkers over to read it as well.

Mom was horrified that I would blog about it.

Dad laughed.

A few days after my mother-in-law's last visit, I found several pills under her bed while I was vacuuming. I called her in Chicago and questioned her about the pills, and she said: "Oh...that's what happened to them. I wondered why I was a few pills short at the end of my visit!" I guess it's a good thing that the cat didn't decide to snack on them.

Those handy-dandy little marked boxes are only as good as the person who fills them ....they have to be filled with the right pills.

At least that was the case with the in-law 'rents that visited us in Jan. 2007.
