Traveler's Disease

We've been back from Cairo for a few days. However, even with the extreme care we took with food and water, we seem to have picked up something: all three of us. Won't paint you a picture.

Will post about Cairo soon...

Note: brushing your teeth with bottled water is both expensive and a bit of a pain in the tush.

Ugh...that was my greatest fear about going to Cairo, but I got lucky, probably because I ended up eating all of my meals in the hotel. Hope y'all are feeling better soon!

But we DID eat most of our meals at the hotel -- for exactly this reason! My sister and I are now fine, but GLH continues to suffer. He is a bit better, but still not ready to leave the comfort of home.

I also don't think I ate a single fruit or vegetable or ice cube there (even at the hotel) out of paranoia, which may have had something to do with it. Mostly I suspect it was luck, since just about everyone I know who has been in Egypt got at least a little bit of a tummy bug.

From the picture of the Pyramids, did that mean you were at the Oberoi? My only view of the Pyramids was from the parking lot of that hotel because we got there before they opened and had to be back for a meeting by 9:00am :-(
