Gadget Boy Strikes Again

Who knew that flying could be so dangerous?

But when GLH is bored on a transatlantic flight, you know that he is likely to pick up that Onboard Catalog. Of course, he found many gadgets that he is certain we absolutely need.

Which is why it shouldn't have surprised me when a box showed up containing...

...an automatic pet feeder which can be programmed to feed animals a set amount three times per day.

As well as this...

...bug vacuum so that he no longer has to come running when I yell "Come quick, there's a bug!"

How did we survive so long without these necessary devices?

I wish we could use one of those automatic feeders for King. Seeing that the old beast has only a few teeth left AND needs pills crushed into his food, canned food is the only option these days. Instead, we have to rely on friends to come over and take care of the old guy when we travel.
Enjoy!

Unfortunately, while the feeder is run by batteries, the watering system has to be plugged in and therefore won't work here. So people will still need to come by for water duty as well as litter box duty. And, of course, petting and playing duty.

But we've been testing it out. And it is very nice to not have the cats wake us in the morning when they believe it is time to be fed! This morning we got to sleep in until 9 because the feeder fed them automatically at 7.

Okay...So, does the bug vacuum just sit there and magically get bugs to go to it? Or you someone have to bring it to the bugs? If the latter, I fail to see how this is going to stop him from having to come running. If the former, where do I get one?

Oh, and who gets to empty it?

Damn I love that guy!! He appears to be just what you needed in your life to break up the boredom of being a Libirian

LOL - that is sort of funny.. Ah laziness!

But I want to know GLH's reaction when you have to move and have acquired so much stuff...

PT: No, it doesn't do it all by itself. However, it does allow you to do it from a distance and without any of that unpleasant squishing. And it will, of course, be GLH's responsibility to dispose of the icky.

Dad: If you thought working in a public library was boring, you haven't been paying attention. Any time you deal with a cross section of society, especially the crazy people who have no place else to go, there is no time to be bored. By the way, I believe it is spelled "liberrian."

ET: That is the danger of marrying someone who has only had corporate moves since he graduated from college. Doesn't matter how much stuff you have. Someone else is paying for professional movers to deal with it all for you. Those of us who have always had to move themselves are much, much better at weeding out their possessions.

I think maybe I need an automatic feeder - my little critters believe that their feeding time is about 5am. And if I get a bug zapper will my brother in law empty it for me when he comes here??? :) Oh wait - I have a brother close by - that would work too :)

We would need a super-size bug killer here - no joke, the spiders make the floorboards shake when they trundle across...
